Chapter 335 is winner of Four 2016 Air Force Association Awards:

Jack Gross Award for the Large Chapter with the highest percentage of new members
Sustained New Member Recruitment Award for sustained annual recruitment of new AFA members
Overall Retention Award for the Large Chapter retaining the highest percentage of current members
Community Partner Gold Award for attaining the highest level of Community Partner support

December 2015, Galaxy of Lights

Huntsville:

 

Chapter 335 members had a great evening of comradery by volunteering at the Huntsville Botanic Garden's Galaxy of Lights.  We shared potluck and braved the Huntsville winter to greet visitors, collect fees, and direct traffic.

 

March 2016, St. Patrick's Day Parade

Huntsville:

 

Chapter 335 members showed our Air Force colors and a little green at the annual Huntsville St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Special thanks to Lockheed Martin who kindly provided an awe inspiring model of the F-35 Lightning II for display.

 

April, May 2016, JROTC Awards

Huntsville:

 

Chapter 335 sponsors scholorships for the outstanding Air Force Junior Researve Officer Training Corps cadets at JO Johnson, Huntsville, and Bob Jones High Schools.

 

 

September 2016, Air Force Birthday Celebration

Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veteran's Home:

 

AFA Tennessee Valley Chapter 335 celebrated the 69th birthday of the United States Air Force with veterans of all services at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veteran's Home in Huntsville, AL.  The event included a cake cutting and singing of the Air Force Song.

September 2016, Air Force Birthday Party
Jackson Center:

 

Chapter members and their guests gathered to celebrate the 69th birthday of the United States Air Force at the Jackson Center.  The evening event featured heavy appetizers, a cash bar, a birthday cake, and the USAF song.  We also had a special presentation of historic photos of Chapter members.

 

November 2016, Veteran's Day Parade

Huntsville:

 

Chapter 335 rolled out the 'heavy package' of trucks for the 2016 Huntsville Veteran's Day parade!

 

December 2016, Galaxy of Lights

May 2017, Major Howard Christiansen Memorial Scholarship and Teacher of the Year Awards

Huntsville and Boaz:

 

Cadet Colonel Emmanuel Offei-Dua received the $1500 Major Howard Christiansen Memorial Scholarship as the top cadet amoung the three AFJROTC units in the Huntsville area.  Cadet Offei-Dua is a senior at Huntsville High School.  Mrs. Angela Graves is recognized as Tennessee Valley Chapter 335 Teacher of the Year for her leadership as Project Lead the Way teacher at Boaz Intermediate School for grades four and five.  She received a pin, portfolio, and check for $250.

 

May 2017, Memorial Day

Huntsville:

 

Chapter 335 members Guy Broadhurst and Jay Carlson lay a wreath at the veteran memorial in Maple Hill Cemetery honoring our fallen bretheren who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.  Members of the Eight Air Force (historical) association were also in attendance.

 

June 2017, Tut Fann Veterans Home BBQ

Huntsville:

 

Air Force retired Col. Jack Royster visits with a veteran at the Tut Fann Veterans Home.  Jack, Air Force Association Tennessee Valley Chapter 335 treasurer, and other veterans from across the area joined the home's residents for its annual barbecue lunch June 10.  (Photo by Ed Worley)
